Tangled - Emma Chase Did Andrew Evans' attitude towards women irritate me at times? YES

Did I ever want to slap him in the face? A couple of times

Did I love him anyway? ABSOLUTELY!

He makes no qualms about his behavior.

"I see something I want, and I go after it. I'm used to getting what I want."

He has just the right amount of arrogance and more than enough charm to pull off his attitude. He's very admirable in a very rakish way.

Drew has been doted on his whole life, he's spoiled and basically just needs to grow up. When he meets his new co-worker/competition at work, Katherine Brooks, his whole world is about to change.

Sometimes a guy can't become a man until he's met the right woman.

When his boss, who is also his father, asks him to compete with Kate to procure an important potenial client: he's insulted and it's game on!

What he's asking is the equivalent of telling an Oscar winner he's got to audition to play a frigging extra

Did I also mention he has ego the size of

I'm not usually a huge fan of the male whore. I'll take the bad ass alpha male Jericho Barrons or the sweetest guy next door Will Cooper any day of the week. In this case, Drew had so many other redeeming qualities, he's guarenteed a spot on my favorite book beaus shelf.

However, loving the guy isn't enough to make the book great for me, I have to love the heroine too. I loved Kate! She's smart, sassy and independent. She is confident and doesn't take crap off Drew, did I mention I love her?

"I don't plan on being one of your groupies or a notch on your bedpost, so you can save your lines, your smile, and your bullshit for someone else."

"I can take a joke,"......"Yeah? When?"......"When it's not being delivered by a childish jackass who thinks he's God's gift to women."

The relationship that develops between these two was so fun to experience, I almost wished it were a movie (which is something I never do) I think it would work for this book.

This is honestly my favorite type of book to read. A book with lovable characters, dialogue that is tit for tat and scenes that are laugh-out-loud funny! Not to mention I had 17 status updates while I was reading this and the book isn't very long. I could have had a whole lot more if I wasn't afraid of losing every friend I have on goodreads. I was grinning like an idiot for most of this book and I'm sure it will put a big smile on your face too! Do yourself a favor.....read this book!
Let's Hear it for the Boy - T.A. Webb This is the type of book I don't normally read.

Why? Because I end up like M'Lynn on Steel Magnolias in the cemetery scene.

photo m-lynn-s-freak-o_zpsf6e42d40.gif

That being said, it was a very heartfelt yet beautifully written tragic story of first love. As I know myself, that first love stays with you always.....no matter where you go in life or what you do. You may no longer have them and they may be gone forever, but a true first love will remain in your heart always.
My Life in Dog Years - Gary Paulsen, Ruth Wright Paulsen If you are a dog lover like myself...This is a definite must read! I loved this book :)
Hidden Depths - Aubrianna Hunter 2.5 Stars

I read this book off and on between my other books. I loved "Lawyer boy Josh" but Gia was frustrating at times. The sex was hot and it served the purpose of having something to read when I was deciding what to read next.
Love Love - Beth Michele

This is the story of a girl named Gabby.

She loves the 4 big C's in my life:

You love her already, right? Only Gabby has suffered tremendous loss and it's left her completely broken. What is a California girl to do? Move to New York City to fulfill part of her life with her dream job.

"We're all damaged, right? It's what we make of the wreckage that matters."

After being in New York for three years she meets two men in the same day which will both change the course of her life. Will she choose hot and sexy green eyed Dane or Brad the barista with the million dollar smile.....

This is a fast paced romance about rediscovering love after love lost and learning it is ok to move on and be happy :-D This is a great read!
Toxic - Raquel Valldeperas *I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

WoW! I just finished this so I'm still processing..... This is the first ARC I've received where I was completely blown away by the story. I was just about to give up hope of getting a good one...I certainly did with Toxic!

Now I'll be honest, the first 40% had me thinking.....

photo depressed_zps445bce08.gif

Not because I was bored but because I kept thinking 'can't a girl catch a break?' The story really drew me in though and I couldn't put it down. Especially once I reached 50%. I read this in one sitting....it was just that enthralling.

There were several plot twists and moments that had me....

In the end, my response to the book is...

This book is unique, it deals with real life issues and overall I highly recommend it! I'm so glad I got the opportunity to review it!
Shattered Glass (Shattered Glass, #1) - Dani Alexander This book shattered the notion I need a heroine in a romance novel for it be 5 stars. I fell in love with these characters as they fell in love with each other.

Meet the narrator Detective Austin Glass:
Austin Glass Dave Franco photo dave-franco-lightbox-02_zpsed1bb4cb.jpg

He's straight, engaged to be married and a self professed screw up at all things relational and he's a narcissist. He's also hilarious and I loved him immediately. Austin was not one of those characters I had to warm up to...My infacuation with him was instantaneous and I fell in love. Did I also mention (just like me) he has 'Superpowers of Awesomeness'?

Meet Austin's new obsession Peter:
Peter photo wynston-alex-evans-04_zps6c6a4225.jpg

He's a bus boy/hustler/prostitute with a heart of gold. Peter was very guarded so it took a little longer for me to warm up to him but I ended up falling in love with him too.

Austin's first reaction to Peter: This is a bad time to ogle teenagers. Is there ever a good time to ogle teenage boys? I think you can see why I loved him immediately!

Peter's reaction to Austin's affections: "Everyone is your competition."...."It goes normal human beings, crazies, republicans, my hand, imaginary characters, corpses and then, in a moment of lustful psychosis, you."

Clearly this is a perfect match! I can't even begin to describe what a wonderfully written, heartfelt at times and nerve wrecking at others, story this is. I loved it! If you think you could never enjoy a M/M, you should give this one a shot. I think you'll be surprised.

Blind Obsession - Ella Frank A man in love with a woman....

"I love you. That is the beginning, and that is the end. That is everything."

A man so osbessed with her ghost....

photo _ghost_woman__by_nancy_long_ago-d53u19t_zps246df73e.jpg

It leaves him unable to give himself to another....

"When I was inside of her, nothing else existed," he confesses.
"And when I'm inside you, she's starting not to exist."

This was such a haunting story that captivated me throughout. It's the most sensually erotic novel I've read and I will never look at a paintbrush again without having a stirring deep within.

photo f445899716b9e8c1e8014c5c670_zps00f831b8.jpg

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't want it to end the way it did. I was able to accept it because of the painting Gemma received of herself with image of Chantel in the mirror. I felt like Phillipe was saying "I love you as much as I did her"

"You can't break a man that's already broken."

I think some people are broken beyond repair and sadly, Phillipe is one of those people.

My first comment on this book before I even started was that I was going in blind. It's ironic, I had no clue one of the characters would be. If you like erotic romance, this book is MUST read. Another thing that sets this book apart from all other books is that it's two romances woven into one story and masterfully done at that. I didn't love one over the other....Just as Phillipe loved them both, so did I.

This Girl (Slammed, #3) - Colleen Hoover This Girl photo butterfly-butterflies-32607917-1280-960_zps60aeda76.jpg

This Book -> -> -> -> -> [bc:This Girl|15784909|This Girl (Slammed, #3)|Colleen Hoover|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1364326075s/15784909.jpg|21502991] is just simply outstanding!

This is the third book I've read where it's the males POV of a previously read novel. It's also by far the best. Of course, Slammed being my favorite of the three, This Girl was already at an advantage. However, Colleen Hoover easily set her book apart from the others by making me actually feel like I was reading an entirely new story at times. I was made privy to so many details of story that were hidden in Slammed. Basically, during some of the situations, I felt like I was experiencing it for the first time... for that, Kudos to you Ms. Hoover!

One of the biggest revelations that made an impact on me was the description of Vaughn's eyes when she broke up with Will...

"Will, don't" she pleads. "Please don't be made at me." She's looking up at me with tears in her eyes. When she cries, her eyes turn a glossy, deep shade of blue. I used to tell her they were the exact same color as the ocean. Looking into her eyes right now almost makes me despise the ocean.

I already loved the poem The Lake but gaining an understaning that the ocean was also a metaphor for Vaughn made me love it all the more.

If I wanted to mention every single thing I loved about the book, well, I'd just have to refer you back to the book. The main thing I loved about the series as a whole was the characters. They were unique and real and totally lovable but my favorite of them all....was Will.

Will Cooper, to put it frankly

photo im-in-love-with-you_zpsf58927ba.gif

Will Cooper is simply perfect! He had me in Slammed at grilled cheese sandwiches. While reminiscing back on their first date, he says of Lake

I like how she seemed to prefer the grilled cheese sandwiches to a restaurant. I like girls who don't mind the simple things every now and then. I like that we're holding hands.

I too prefer simple things and this passage reminded of one of my favorite quotes:

photo alone_zps3b2a95e0.jpg

We also get a better feel for the internal struggle Will dealt with over following his heart verses following a moral code in This Girl.

I hate the fact that I'm her teacher. I'd so much rather be her Will.

It was surprising to learn he would have quit his job if she'd asked him to and it was also surprising to learn he was about to ask her to wait for him when Julia intervened. It was so wonderful to feel how he was just as love struck from the very beginning as Layken was. I can't think of two characters more perfect for each other than Layken and Will. Just their connection alone and when you couple that with their circumstances, I whole heartedly believe they were soul mates :)

Thank you Colleen for sharing such a wonderful story with us! Books like these are the reason I have such a passion for reading.

The Stillness of You - Julie Bale 3.5 Stars

*I was gived a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review*

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the fact the main character Georgia is flawed and damaged. It made her more real. The hockey player Ben really had my heart! I think the characters were well developed all though there were just a couple of aspects that seemed a little hokey.

Now....the sex in this was HOT!

"I can't promise that I'll fuck you nice and slow even though you deserve it, because babe, I'm already there. But I can promise that it will be hot. Any you'll be screaming by name before it's done""

So if you're looking for a short read with straight up hot sex (it's not kinky), I would most definitely recommend this book. I'm looking forward to seeing where the next book takes theses characters.

~Note to author: I would love a book about Matt! :)

*Note: I actually change my my rating from 3 to 3.5 stars after more consideration... The mental health status of the heroine was an intersesting story line.
Sempre (Forever, #1) - J.M. Darhower 3.5 Stars

I think my main problem with book (besides it being way too long) was that I had extremely high expectations. Sometimes this can be a total killer for me with books and movies....especially movies. I didn't love the main character Carmine. I thought he was way too disrespectful and it didn't set well with me. I also struggled with the reasoning of keeping Haven a secret. It totally didn't make sense to me on any level. I just didn't get it.
Giving Up the Ghost (A 13 Shades of Red Novel) - S.A. Price, Stella Price I was given a copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review

I don't even know where to start with this book. First of all, let me say, I did not take into account the numerous grammatical errors while considering my rating. Although I have to admit, not knowing the difference between your and you're is a huge pet peeve of mine and I cringed at the many times I saw the misuse of your.

First of all, the whole paranormal aspect of the book just DID NOT WORK. I didn't hate the characters so the story may have worked better without it or if the author really felt it necessary to keep it, it would need to be reworked. The way it was introduced to Saffron that Rhys could see the dead and the way she just accepted it like learning Rhys was dyslexic or something was totally unbelievable. This is just a start as to what was wrong with whole that story line.

Here's another thing that really put me off....Dante was the only British character and a good portion of jargon used was English and not American. Also, the terminology used by saying 'gods' instead of 'God' was utterly ridiculous. I get what author was trying to get at by using it that way but it just looked stupid. Nobody says "gods", so oh my God it sounded really out of place.

I really appreciated the opportunity to read this book and based on the synopsis and cover, I had high hopes but it just didn't deliver for me.
Killing Kate - Lila Veen Call me crazy, but I liked this book. It was a total departure from the norm with a few good plot twists. I met a good friend while doing this BR so I'll never forget it for that!
Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover This is the best news for a crappy day!

Maybe Someday - Colleen Hoover photo gimmeit_zpsc4202c56.gif
Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire 3.5 STARS

I did give this book 1/2 star higher rating that I did Beautiful Disaster for two reasons.

1. I was a little more sympathetic to Travis seeing things from his POV of course.

"One of these days you're going to fall in love, son. Don't settle for just anyone. Choose the girl that doesn't come easy, the one you have to fight for, and then never stop fighting."

When the sad went away, I would always play, and I would always fight. Hard.

"I can't think of a single guy I know that's good enough for you."

I'd finally found a girl that was interesting enough to get to know, and a version of me had already hurt her.

For the first time I felt like a normal, whole human being, instead of some broken, angry man.

photo bd_zps63be88b6.gif

It still didn't change my opinion of him totally. As much as I liked him, I had some issues with him too.

2. The dialogue between Travis and Shepley and Travis and Trenton was hilarious! I love good banter. Also, being in Travis' head was funny too at times. Here are a few of my favorites.

"Why don't you shut up and give that whole in your face a chance to heal."

My brain flased like channels through Pigeon porn, and then the whole system crashed, and an infomercial about nobility and not wanting to screw up this weird friendship we'd just begun appeared in its place.

"The day you appeared on our family tree, I wanted to cut it down."

Ho 101: If the man in your sights is on a date or with a female friend, force him to admit to lack of commitment. Creates insecurity and instability.

"You haven't seen me mean, mama's boy!"
"I told you we're close!"
"Yeah, so are me and my asshole! Doesn't mean I'm going to call it twice a day!"
